                  The Food Security Center (FSC) is an organization which aims to provide innovative and effective scientific contributions in order to reduce hunger and achieve food security. It contributes towards the progress of Millennium Developmental Goal 1, particularly to eradicate the hunger and malnutrition. The Food Security Center utilizes a multidisciplinary approach through teaching, conducting research concerning with food availability, food access, food use, food quality, food safety and food utilization, giving particular concern to gender equality, rights of women and sustainability of agricultural production. Moreover, it provides policy advice in cooperation with national and international development organizations and partner Higher Education Institutes in the developing world.

                   In Asia, especially Thailand, Kasetsart University is a strategic partnership of the Food Security Center. Many organizations within Kasetsart University are dealing with the food security issues such as Faculty of Agriculture, Faculty of Fisheries, Faculty of Agro-Industry, and Institute of Food Research and Product Development.
